Meet the Captain
We endeavor to provide you with very safe, comfortable and personal service. Your captain is U.S. Coast Guard licensed, with 31 years local residency and experience in Alaska waters.
Fishing commercially around Kodiak for Salmon and halibut in the late 60's and early 70's his respect for the waters of the North Pacific were fine tuned, providing him the education he practices now. Bob has fished for halibut locally since 1979 operating his own boat and finally moving into chartering in 1987.
Catch Record
We have a very good catch record and a long history of fishing for halibut so we know how to get you onto the very best fishing. We have computerized our fishing records so we know where to fish and, along with the fine electronics onboard we can pinpoint the best producing areas. Our vessel is also equipped with the latest in fish finding electronics as well as state-of-the art communication gear which we use to keep in contact with other vessels. Our halibut fishing grounds encompass more than 2500 square miles with a wide variety of fishing conditions.
Rates & Info
Our fee for the 2006 season is $220.00 per person.
We accept cash, checks, and the following charge cards Discover, MasterCard & Visa.
We advise reservations be made as early as possible as this is an extremely popular attraction to Alaskans and Alaska visitors alike.
Reservations and Deposit: When you have decided on what date you prefer and how many people will be going look at our Charter Availability Calendar to see if we have the number of seats needed, then Email or call us and we will place you on our calendar.
We require a deposit of 50% of the total charter fee, and upon receiving it, we will send you a confirmation and directions to our boat in the Homer Small Boat Harbor. We will collect any balance due on the day of the charter at the boat.
Parties larger than six persons can be accommodated through business associates with like vessels and services.
Cancellation Policy: If you must cancel your fishing trip with us we offer a full refund of funds received if you cancel at least 14 days prior to your scheduled date. If you cannot give us notice of more than 13 days we will retain 10% of the total charter fee. If A-WARD CHARTERS must cancel your fishing trip due to weather or other situations beyond our control we will gladly make other arrangements or refund all funds received.
Alaska Sportfishing License Fees Fishing Licenses are NOT needed by either residents or non-residents of Alaska under 16 years. The daily bag limit is still 2 halibut of any size.
